Hall tickets distributed during exam

Meanwhile, several such incidents took place in other suburban colleges where there were similar delays in giving hall tickets.

MUMBAI: Students in several suburban colleges affiliated to the Mumbai University (MU), who appeared for their third-year B.Com. examinations on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, got their hall tickets while writing the exams. Technically, hall tickets should be with the students at least five days before the commencement of exams and only with them, they are allowed to appear for the exams. However, due to the MU’s official portal being slow, the colleges too could not download the hall tickets which is why the delay occurred.

“Since almost two weeks, we had been trying to get the hall tickets from the college. Almost every second day, we went there to ask but every time, they gave some or the other reason and did not give us our hall tickets,” said a student from a Mumbra-based college.

She continued, “We are final-year students and hence, it is a very crucial year for us. Instead of studying, we were running around the college and administration office for our hall tickets. Even Tuesday, we went to ask but nothing happened and eventually, we decided to take our college identity card to the examination hall.”

Meanwhile, several such incidents took place in other suburban colleges where there were similar delays in giving hall tickets. Close to 30 students of the Mumbra college Wednesday protested outside their college for hall tickets. After talks with the college authorities, they were allowed to give the exams on the basis of their college identity cards.
