Mumbai: Youths beat up cop after he objects to urinating in open

Thane: A group of youths allegedly beat up an assistant sub-inspector attached to Badlapur police station in the district late last night after he took exception to one of them urinating by the roadside, police said.

Maruti Kohinkar (57) spotted a boy answering the nature's call in the vicinity of his house at around 11.30 pm last night and reprimanded him, whereupon the boy and his five friends assaulted him, police said.

Kohinkar received some serious injuries and was admitted to a private hospital. The boys, yet to be unidentified, fled on motorbikes after the incident. Badlapur police have registered case.  Probe is on.
