WR vows stern guidelines following SRK's train mishap
Mumbai: After Shah Rukh Khan’s train wreck, the western railways (WR) on Wednesday released a statement that it would approach the railway board for stringent guidelines to avoid such incidents from recurring even as it alleged that the film team did not inform the authorities about their exact plan during the journey. This came after the train promotion of SRK’s movie Raees led to death of a person at Vadodara station. The WR claimed to take strict action in order to prevent such incidents further.
Chief PRO of western railway, Ravindra Bhaskar said to the agencies that they will be taking all precautionary measures to avert these incidents. “We gave him permission to promote the film within the coach. We were not informed that the actor will be attracting a crowd through his tweets and will be showering gifts at them. Had we been informed about this by the crew managers, we would certainly not have given permission for the same,” Bhaskar said. “Had we known the exact plan of the crew, and the possible risk of stampede by an invitation to a crowd on the railway premises, then there was no question of giving permitting them,” he added.
Investigations have been ordered into the incident, which has kicked up a row. It all began when a Mr. Farid Khan Pathan died of cardiac arrest. This happened on Monday as huge amount of crowd went bonkers after the star’s arrival at the station railway station. Mr. Pathan’s relative, a journalist, too was travelling with the star. According to officials, two policemen were injured when thousands of people went out of control after the train’s arrival. In order to control the situation, mild lathi-charge was conducted. He was accompanied by film producer Ritesh Sidhwani, Sunny Leone and director Rahul Dholakia.
