Opposition boycotts CM's tea party, claims BJP govt disastrous
Mumbai: Opposition parties of Maharashtra boycotted the tea party organised by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis ahead of the Legislative session from Monday. Claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led (BJP) government has proved to be “disastrous” for farmers, youth and common man, opposition parties warned that they would disrupt the house proceedings in upcoming budget session.
Farmers, employment, law and order and investments in the state will be major issues which the opposition parties will raise in the session.
Opposition leaders from Congress, Nationalist Congress Party, Peasants and Workers Party, Samajwadi Party, Communists and Lok Bharati met on Sunday to discuss the strategy for the budget session. They have decided to raise the issues such as loan waiver schemes, rallies by youths over employment, MPSC exams, stalled recruitments of police and teachers, Bhima Koregaon violence, Kamala Mills fire in the house.
“There is anger in Maharashtra against the current government. Whether it the issue of reservations to communities like Maratha and Dhangar or loan waiver or law and order, people are witnessing complete failure on the part of the government. Opposition parties will not spare this anti-people dispensation now,” said opposition leader in Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil.
