Mumbai: The Mumbai University (MU) students will now have the opportunity to share their feedback and suggestions with the varsity through an online questionnaire.

The reviews from the students can be related to academics, curriculum, college locations, fees, etc, all of which will be reviewed and included in MU’s five-year perspective plan starting from the academic 2019-20 session .

“Students are important stakeholders of the MU and hence their opinion and suggestions should be given a platform. The students can tell us what they want the varsity to do for them. Be it fees, transport services, changes in the curriculum or anything related to academics or administration, the suggestions are welcome,” said a MU official.

“There are several places in Maharashtra (which have sub-centres of MU), which need more colleges or several new courses for the students. If we get proper suggestion for the same from the students, we can consider beginning new colleges with new courses for them,”he added.

The five-year perspective plan is compulsory for all public universities in the state according to the Maharashtra Public University Act. MU’s plan is from academic year 2019-20 to 2023-24.

The plan will also see the introduction of 62 new unaided colleges along with special women’s colleges, law colleges in the state.

Varsity officials claim this programme to be one of a kind, especially to give a better quality of overall experience to the students of the varsity. Along with the students, a similar questionnaire will be thrown open for the teachers, principals and other stakeholders of Mumbai University.
