Sheena murder: Witness may be heard later
They cited that witnesses whose statements the police officer had recorded as part of the initial probe by Khar police should be examined first.
Mumbai: The defence lawyers in the 2012 Sheena Bora murder case on Monday filed an application before the special CBI court to defer cross-examination of the fifth prosecution witness PSI Nitin Alakhnure. They cited that witnesses whose statements the police officer had recorded as part of the initial probe by Khar police should be examined first.
According to the application, Peter Mukerjea's son Rahul and one Kishore should be examined first because PSI Alakhnure had spoken about them in his statement. The CBI will file its reply on the defence’s application Tuesday. Special public prosecutors Bharat Badami and Kavita Patil on Monday completed examining PSI Alakhnure.
