Aadhaar reunites missing boy with family after 3yrs

After efforts to trace him failed, his parents who are daily wage labourers’ registered a complaint at the local police station on January, 19.

Mumbai: In a hear-warming incident, a family was reunited with their missing child due to the fact that they enrolled for Aadhaar card days before he went missing in 2015.

According to the officials attached to the Bhayandar based Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTW) of the Thane (rural) police, the child identified as Sagar Dashrath Dhangar (14) went missing from his tenement in Mharal Gaon area of Kalyan on January 15, 2015. A specially-abled boy, Sagar studied in class 5.

After efforts to trace him failed, his parents who are daily wage labourers’ registered a complaint at the local police station on January, 19.

As personnel from the welfare home in Pathardi village of Ahmednagar district, was taking the biometric details-like the boys thumb impression and retina scans, they realised that he was already registered for an Aadhaar card to his name. The welfare home immediately contacted the local police which in turn alerted the AHTW of the Thane (rural) police.
