Mumbai police to provide basic security for Virushka reception

According to sources, the eighth and ninth floor of the hotel has been booked for their relatives and friends.

Mumbai: The Mumbai police will only be providing “basic security” at Lower Parel’s St Regis Hotel, which will host the wedding of newly weds Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma on Tuesday, as the couple has not requested for any special security arrangements.

Mumbai police spokesperson Deepak Deoraj, who is also Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), said that dignitaries usually arrange their own private security for such functions.

Speaking to The Asian Age, he said: “We have not received any formal application from the hosts or the hotel asking for a security detail. However we will provide a security detail of 15 policemen who will be present in the 1 kilometer radius of the event venue.”

After a resplendent reception in Delhi, Kolhi and Anushka will be hosting a grand reception at the Astor Ballroom. According to sources, the eighth and ninth floor of the hotel has been booked for their relatives and friends. The ballroom is on the ninth floor with an area of around 6,400 square feet, which can accomodate 300 guests. Following a splendid wedding ceremony in Italy, Shaadi Squad, the event planner, is again set to make the Mumbai’s reception memorable for Virushka.

The reception will be attended by stars from the world of Bollywood and cricket. The guest list includes famous personalities like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Mukesh and Neeta Ambani among others. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is likely to attend the reception as well.

The couple were all praises for the wedding planners on social media, not only for the perfect ceremony, but also for the confidentiality the team maintained till the
