Dhananjay Munde seeks suspension of Raigad officers
Mumbai: The leader of opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Dhananjay Munde on Tuesday demanded that all the officers in Raigad district administration should be suspended in connection with the death of farmer Tausif Hanif Shaikh.
Mr Munde also demanded registration of murder case against the officers. He also sought a judicial enquiry into Tausif’s death by a retired judge.
Tausif set himself on fire last Thursday and died as he was unhappy with the district administration and the local civic body in Karjat due to non-removal of encroachments from the lands that belonged to a temple trust.
The NCP leader demanded that Rs 50 lakh compensation for Tausif’s family and his wife be given a government job.
