Pune: Showing great presence of mind, a plucky woman, who realised she was being filmed while freshening up by an unknown man in an office toilet, caught the culprit and handed him over to the police. The police immediately booked the accused under molestation charges.

Sources said that 24-year-old Shaina Sahay (name changed), was working as a human resources executive in a private firm on the fifth floor of World Trade Centre Tower, Kharadi, Pune, for the past two years, while staying with her parents and siblings at Wanvadi.

The accused has been identified as Rajkamal Rajbahaddur Yadav (24), who hails from Bihar and stays in Kharadi.

Anil Patrudkar, police inspector, Chandannagar police station, said, “She generally works between 11 am and 8 pm but sometimes, she has to stay back till late for office work. On April 25, she had to stay back as the work of staff increments was underway. At 9.45 pm, she went to a toilet on the same i.e. fifth floor. There are three to four toilets (five to eight feet) in the women’s washroom; they are separated by partitions and there is a distance between the partition and the roof.”

“While she was freshening up, she felt as if someone was clicking photographs with a mobile. When she looked around, she saw an unknown man clicking her pictures while standing on the commode of a nearby toilet and taking photographs from the open space between the partition and the roof,” said Patrudkar.

Scared out of her wits, the woman rushed out of the toilet and started screaming, alerting security guard Abhijit Bandu Shelake. Later, when she confronted the man who had been taking her pictures, he tried to push her and flee from the spot. However, the security guard caught him.

Meanwhile, the victim shared with her colleagues what she had undergone and they in turn called the police which reached the venue and arrested the man. The accused has been identified as Rajkamal Rajbahaddur Yadav, 24, who hails from Bihar and stays in Kharadi.
