Digvijay Singh slams Chhattisgarh govt over naxal attack

Singh, who arrived by a service flight from Delhi, also criticised the Dr Raman Singh's government for its failure to prevent Naxal violence.

Nagpur: Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has alleged that the Sukma attack, where Naxalites gunned down 25 CRPF jawans, a total intelligence failure on the part of the Chhattisgarh government.

Quoting an injured CRPF jawan recovering in hospital, Mr Singh said that there was a total collapse in the co-ordination between the para-military force and the local police. Mr Singh, who arrived by a service flight from Delhi, also criticised the Dr Raman Singh’s government for its failure to prevent Naxal violence.

Mr Singh, who was on a private visit and had arrived by a service flight from Delhi, also criticised the Dr Raman Singh government for its failure to prevent Naxal-related violence.

“I am not asking for resignation of Dr Raman Singh. The number of incidents of Naxal violence has gone up many times and many of our brave soldiers have lost their lives. The BJP leaders don’t have morality to talk about it,” Mr Singh said.

Reiterating his statement made on Tuesday, Mr Singh, who was chief minister of un-divided Madhya Pradesh, which including the then Chhattisgarh region, said Dr Singh and the Naxals have some links.

He said, “During our period we had discontinued the involvement of contractors and these contractors are hobnobbing with Naxals. Contractors should immediately be disassociated with any activities. Dr Singh has encouraged contractors all along.”
