Mumbai: The much-awaited white and yellow colour scheme buses of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST) will finally ply between CST and Gateway of India from April 27 to 30 on route no 111. The BEST will ply the buses and keep a ‘review period’ during which commuters can send their suggestions to the undertaking.

The BEST is trying to shed the old red colour of the colonial past and slip into the new white-yellow scheme to attract the patronage of the youth. Currently, only two buses with the new colour will be launched, one air-conditioned and the other non-air conditioned.

The BEST had stopped running air-conditioned buses from among its fleet from April 17 as they were turning out to be too expensive.

Students of J J School of Arts designed the white and yellow colour scheme for the buses. The colours are apparently visible in the dark by almost 40 percent.

Commuters can send their feedback to probestundertaking@gmail.com.

The new buses are currently parked at BEST’s Wadala depot. The enthusiastic students of JJ are giving it some last minute touches.

Officials said that if they get a positive feedback from their commuters then they might change the colour of the entire fleet.

Also, the logo of the undertaking has been redesigned to have the word BEST written in Hindi surround by yellow stripes that are in an hexagonal box.
