Govt given Rs 7 crore for cyber security betterment: MOS
Mumbai: While paying his tributes to the 26/11 martyrs, Union minister of state (home) Hansraj Ahir on Sunday said a sum of Rs 7 crore has been provided to the Maharashtra government for ramping up its cyber security and foil terror attacks by keeping a tab on the cyber activities of potential recruits.
While focusing on the various aspects of security measures being undertaken to thwart 26/11-like terror attacks, the minister said that the government has deployed modern technologies and equipments, along with the proposed “cyber commands” to keep a tab on the intrusion in Kashmir and the youths who are “bullied to radicalisation through social media”.
The cyber command will consist of the three defence forces — Army, Navy and Air force — who will monitor the cyber traits for central as well as the state government.
Talking to The Asian Age, Mr Ahir said, “We have observed that most youths fall prey to these dangerous sites through social media.”
