MNS calls MBMC chief incompetent, seeks his ouster
Mumbai: Accusing the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) chief, Balaji Khatgaonkar of being incompetent, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has sought his ouster. To substantiate claims, the MNS listed a string of issues like failure in tackling hawker menace, allowing illegal change in reservation of needed public amenities on the behest of rulers, undue privileges to developers of a club despite damage to environment, patronage to illegal constructions, declining quality of infrastructure owing to massive corruption, reclamation of land, pathetic state of health care and public transport facilities.
“The civic chief has clearly succumbed to the pressure exerted by his political masters. The citizen-unfriendly moves are bound to spell doom for the twin-city which desperately needs an IAS officer.” said Avinash Jadhav MNS chief (Thane-Palghar). “We will soon launch an agitation for Mr Khatgaonkar’s ouster,” said Prasad Surve MNS city chief.
