Mumbai: For the second consecutive day, services on the Western Railway (WR) line got hit in the morning peak hour due to a technical snag. Commuters had to face hardship due to a ‘point failure’ (when the crossing point of a track does not function smoothly and the train is unable to switch tracks). Twenty suburban services have been cancelled and close to 100 services were delayed due to point failure. However, the WR claimed that the services were restored within half hour.

Meanwhile, in evening peak hours; the Central Railways (CR) also witnessed the rail facture on fast down line between Dadar and Matunga station leading to a delay of 15 to 20 minutes. On Thursday, the peak hours on the WR was affected as the loco of August Kranti Rajdhani Express (12953) witnessed a technical snag at Elphinstone station, affecting fast line local services many trains had to be diverted to slow line. The suburban passengers had faced hardship.  

Rahul Hiralal Yadav (21), who travels from Boisar to Mumbai for his treatment, said that as the train was delayed, he failed to reach Cama Hospital on time.
