Withdraw charges on protesters, says Dhananjay Munde

One person died in the Navi Mumbai violence, during the Maratha reservation stir.

Mumbai: Despite the fact that the ongoing agitations for Maratha reservation have seen violence across the state with several deaths and injuries, instances of the torching of buses and cars, and a fire-brigade vehicle too, attacks on police personnel, leader of Opposition in the legislative council Dhananjay Munde (NCP) demanded the withdrawal of cases against persons accused of involvement in the violence during the bandh called on Wednesday.

One person died in the Navi Mumbai violence, during the Maratha reservation stir. Many ST buses and private vehicles were damaged or burned, causing the loss of crores of rupees. Stone pelting incidents and damage to the public properties done across the state.

Police had registered offences across the state and arresting the offenders. Now, Mr Munde has written a letter to CM Devendra Fadnavis to withdraw these offences registered across the state. Mr Munde said that public representatives and political workers also participated in the agitations, supporting the reservations. Mr Munde alleged that police registered false offences and arrested people. This unwarranted action has created anger across the state. Mr Munde warned of action.
