'Rationalists' murders attack on secularism'
Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar called murders of four rationalists an attack on Indian secularism. He said that strict action should be taken against the organisation that is behind it. Talking about the upcoming elections, Mr Pawar said that all anti-BJP forces must join hands. He also praised Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s stand on prime ministership.
While talking to his party workers in Mumbai on Monday Mr Pawar said, “We need to understand that the murders of writers and journalists are not just murders of individuals. It is an attack on secularism.”
During his speech, Mr Pawar did not name any organisation and further added that any organisation, which is coming on road for wrong reasons and supporting such activities must be taken to task.
Talking about the investigation Mr Pawar said, “As the investigation is progressing, new evidences and culprits are been revealed. Few people had made plans in one city and executed it somewhere else. The ideology behind this is anti-social and we must defeat it.”
