Want to raise issues in Mantralaya: Aaditya Thackeray

Aaditya had also asked people for their support for his ongoing 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra,' which he is undertaking across the state.

Mumbai/Nagpur: Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray has indicated his intention to contest the upcoming Assembly polls.

Speaking at a rally at Dahisar on Monday night, Aaditya had said that he wanted to raise people’s issues and grievances at Mantralaya — the state’s administrative headquarters.

Aaditya had also asked people for their support for his ongoing ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra,’ which he is undertaking across the state.

According to sources, Aditya is likely to contest the upcoming Assembly polls. If he eventually takes the political plunge, Aaditya would be the first member of the Thackeray family to contest any election.

At a rally in Nagpur on Tuesday, however, Aaditya remained tight-lipped over the issue of contesting the Assembly election.

“I am not going to leak anything about my maiden fight in Assembly polls. It is for the people to decide where I will contest. It is for people to decide what responsibility they want to give me,” he said.

Aaditya was however critical of BJP-led government in the state. He pointed out that farmer suicides and youth unemployment continue to be a problem, while economic recession has badly hit the business community.

Aaditya reiterated that the Sena was always committed to the well being of farmers. It was due to mounting pressure from us that the government was compelled to waive off the crop loan and also launch the crop insurance scheme, he said.
