Extra classes in store for Mumbai University students
Mumbai: The change in the schedule of the examinations will affect the academic calendar of the University of Mumbai (MU).
Generally, the semester examinations of undergraduate courses and postgraduate courses are conducted in the months of October and November. However, because of the result delay mess that took place from June to September, the academic calendar of the varsity has been disturbed. Now, colleges in the city will be giving ‘extra classes’ for students in order to complete the syllabus.
In order to let the students be un-effected of all the confusion, after the vice-chancellor Dr Devanand Shinde’s approval, the colleges in the city have decided to conduct ‘extra classes’ for the students in order to complete their syllabus properly.
According to Dr Shinde, approximately 1,000 hours in extra classes will be further bifurcated by the colleges according to their preferences.
From routine classes to examinations and results in the future, the result delay mess has affected one and all. Mr Shinde said, “We know that the academic calendar has been shifted but we don’t want this vicious circle to be carried on for the next year.”
