P Chidambaram holds meet to discuss Cong manifesto
Mumbai: Former finance minister and Congress leader P. Chidambaram Saturday met people from diverse sectors to discuss their aspirations. This was part of Congress’s campaign of pulling ideas and suggestions for its manifesto for the 2019 general elections.
Mr Chidambaram is chairman of Congress’s manifesto committee, which is holding seminar, conferences and group discussions all over India. “Congress has alw-ays tried to listen and me-et the aspirations of people. We have a long-standing history of development and peace. The upc-oming election is important and we want to come up with a concrete plan for people,” said Mr Chidambaram to the gathering. He assured people of incorporating their suggestions in the party’s manifesto.
Congress’s research and analysis department head and Rajya Sabha member of Parliament Rajeev Gowda elaborated on the process of making this manifesto. “Your voice is the theme of the 2019 election. Our party president Rahul Gandhi has taken this view to get as much people as possible on board across the sections for making this,” said Mr Gowda.
