Piyush Goyal falls sick, rushed to hospital
Mumbai: Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal was rushed to privately – run Breach Candy hospital in South Mumbai on Monday evening after he suffered from severe stomach pain and some throat issues.
Mr Goyal was about to address a press conference at 6.30 pm at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) station when he was admitted to the hospital.
Due to the health issues, Mr Goyal did not attend a meeting with senior railways officials and he was to rushed to hospital mid-way. Senior railway officials claimed that Mr Goyal suffered severe stomach pain and throat issues.
While talking to The Asian Age, however, a Breach Candy receptionist denied that Mr Goyal was admitted there. The Asian Age tried to repeatedly call the chief PRO of Central Railway, Sunil Udasi, but he could not be reached for his comment.
Earlier in the day, Mr Goyal travelled in the Mumbai suburban train from Elphinstone to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station on Monday to review the infrastructure and passenger amenities at the stations.
During his visit to Elphinstone Road station, the minister took stock of the ongoing construction of the foot over-bridge (FOB) being built by the Army and expressed satisfaction over the pace of the work.
