Third accused held for beating up two cops
Mumbai: The Oshiwara police has arrested the third person accused of assaulting two constables on Friday. While the police has arrested two men and one woman, who are accused of assaulting two cops, one woman accused is absconding. The police are investigating the case and have launched search for the fourth absconding woman accused.
Two men and their wives had allegedly assaulted the two constables of Oshiwara police station on Friday afternoon when the cops visited the residence of accused in Jogeshwari to question one of them in connection with a robbery case lodged in Andheri police station. The wife of one the accused attacked two constables Santosh Lokhande and Mujawar, with a knife when the constables came to question them. The two policemen sustained minor injuries on the arm and chest and were rushed to the civic-run Cooper Hospital for receiving treatment.
The police has arrested the three accused along with two men Shakir and Hussain, who are suspected to be drug dealers. While three accused have been arrested, another accused woman is on the run. The police has issued a lookout notice for the absconding accused woman.
