CM Fadnavis to meet Sena chief for Nanar negotiations

The CM spoke to Mr Pradhan and appointed a coordination committee for the project.

Mumbai: After Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray refused to meet Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis is expected to meet him for negotiations on the Nanar project. The CM spoke to Mr Pradhan and appointed a coordination committee for the project.

Mr Fadnavis is very keen to go ahead with the project as it is a priority project for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But the Shiv Sena is firm in its opposition. Also, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Narayan Rane too is opposing the project along with the residents of 16 villages in the project’s vicinity.

The coordination committee is expeceted to discuss all the issues and objections with the stakeholders. It will consist of the reprentatives of BJP, the Sena, residents and officers of the Ratnagiri Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd to clear all doubts about the project.
