Sanatan protests against 'attacks' on it

The organisation called the attack a planned strategy of few people to defame it.

Mumbai: The Sanatan Sanstha, which is under attack for plotting the murders of four rationalists, on Tuesday protested against the attack on it in Thane. Almost five hundred workers and supporters of the organisation participated in the morcha. The organisation called the attack a planned strategy of few people to defame it.

”Our organisation has nothing to do with the murders of Dr Narendra Dabholkar or anyone else. Few people are framing us. Our organisation deals with spiritual issues and we do not interfere in other matters,” said Chetan Rajhans, spokesperson of the Sanatan.

The Hindu Janjagruti Samiti also participated in the morcha. Sunil Ghanvat, from the organisation blamed the Congress leaders for the campaign against the Sanatan Sanstha and the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti.

“Within an half an hour of the Dr Dabholkar’s murder, the then chief minister, Prithviraj Chavan blamed it on people of Nathuram Godse’s mentality. It was an attempt to give direction to the police investigation. That is why the real culprits are not being caught by police,” said Mr Ghanvat.

The Sanatan Sanstha claimed that the morcha in Thane had received support from various right-wing organisations, including the RSS and the Shiv Sena. “Congress leaders, like Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil are blaming us because we exposed the corruption in his educational institutions.”
