Beginning August 30, five prime roads in the city will be marked as “no parking” under the BMC’s new no parking policy. The roads in question are: Gokhale Road and Maharshi Karve Road in the city area; Lal Bahadur Shastri Road in the eastern suburbs; and Swami Vivekananda Road and New Link Road in the western suburbs.

Although Mumbai has not received rainfall in the past few days, the rainfall in catchment areas has led to rise in water stock. The total water content in all seven reservoirs has reached up to 96 per cent, which is two per cent more than last year.

Tribal students in rural areas of the Maharashtra will now be able to study in English medium schools. The state government has decided to convert ashram schools to English and semi-English medium schools in a bid to provide these students an English medium education.
