Fireman Injured in line of duty is stable: Doctors

Mumbai: A fireman was also injured in the level three “fire” that broke out in this building. He is recuperating at Rajawadi Hospital and is in a stable condition. The injured fireman has been identified as Chadan Singh (28). Medical superintendent of Rajawadi Hospital Dr Vidya Thakur said, “Two were brought here with superficial burn injuries. Those injured are Shrinivas Joshi (86) who is reportedly critical whereas fireman Singh is reported to be stable.

Singh had gone up and opened the door of the flat that had fumes coming out when he inhaled the smoke and fell unconscious, which was the reason for getting injured according to a source from the fire department.

Deputy CFO Mumbai, V.N. Panigarh, said, “Our person is recuperating. We have taken precautions but sometimes, accidents occur.”

According to an eyewitness, fire fighters had to remove people who were trapped on the upper floors from the 15th floor, using ladders. Fire fighters broke doors after people told them that they feared residents were trapped in the flats. This helped them rescue two persons, both of were rushed to hospital.The blaze started on the eleventh floor flat belonging to S. Meghpuria.
