Mumbai: A day after a woman was found dead and her husband injured in their house at Nagpada, the police has registered a case of murder against the woman’s husband, Mohammed Zulfikar (49). While he is yet to be arrested, the police suspect that he killed his wife in a fit of rage out of suspicion that she was having an extra-marital affair. Nagpada police is also questioning the couple’s children and the neighbours.

Zulfikar’s brother, Abdul Majeed, on Tuesday morning found Zulfikar and his wife, Samira Dalvi, lying in a pool of blood in their house. Samira died before reaching J.J. hospital while Zulfikar was admitted and is now recuperating. Zulfikar works as a manager at a popular city restaurant and also owns a small betel shop in Nagpada whereas his deceased wife used to run tuition classes from home. Samira died due to multiple stab wounds while Zulfikar sustained two stab wounds on his arm and abdomen.

A police source said, “When we questioned him regarding the incident, he initially denied remembering anything after having slept post dinner. Later on Wednesday however, he said that two men wearing black entered their house and demanded money from his wife.”
