Superintendent of Thane central jail Nitin Waychal said, “After complaining of chest pain, he was taken to Thane civil hospital from Thane prison. But again he complained of chest pain and several other problems in the night after which he was moved to JJ Hospital.” Superintendent of JJ Hospital, Dr Sanjay Surase, said, “Prisoner Kaskar was examined at the hospital and provided necessary medical treatment. After the medication and evaluation of his health condition, we found no further need to keep him in the hospital.”
