Railway Police checks for sabotage on CR
Mumbai: The railway police conducted mass checks at stations and inside the local trains as part of a massive combing operation on Thursday. Several teams of the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) together conducted the anti-sabotage checking on the Central Railway. The drill comprised of at least 30 officials, who were divided in smaller teams.
The teams checked the stations in three sets CST to Sion, Kurla to Mumbra and Kalyan to Karjat/Kasara belt. They also boarded the train and conducted checks inside them. The railway police personnel meanwhile stated that the checking was routine drill to identify and apprehend habitual criminals.
“The teams consisted of police inspectors, assistant police inspectors and constabulary staff. The personnel checked the local train compartments for suspicious materials and unattended objects, if any” said a GRP officer.
The ladies coaches were also scanned by specially formed women police teams. The teams checked all the entry exit points.
