Western Railway to bring in new schedule from November 1

Currently, 49 services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Termi-nus (CSMT) and Goregaon are operational on harbour line.

Mumbai: The new timetable in the suburban section of the Western Railway (WR) will be implemented from November 1. During morning time, no Virar-bound fast local trains would be given a halt between Churchgate and Mumbai Central in down direction.

At present, the WR runs 1355 services, whic-h would be increased to 1365. In addition to this, 40 services would be extended from Andheri to Goregaon on harbour line. Currently, 49 services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Gorega-on are operational on harbour line.

A WR senior officer said that during morning peak hours, Virar bound fast local train halts would be cancelled between Churchgate and Mumbai Central. Officials said that four new services would be introduced between Virar and Dahanu. Additional six trains would be run in ChurchgateVirar section.

Ladies special train departing from Church-gate at 6.51 pm, which runs up to Bhayander, would be extended up to Virar. Similarly, ladies special train departing from Vasai Road at 9.56 am for Churchgate, will now depart from Virar at 8.44 am.

The Air Conditioned (AC) local will be given a halt at Marine Lines, Charni Road, Grant Road, Dahisar, Mira Road, Naigaon and Nalasopara stations from November 1.

The existing 40 services running between CSMT and Andheri on Harbour line will be extended up to Goregaon, while WR will also be extending its two services upto Goregaon instead of Andheri.
