Shiv Sena blames CM for Poladpur bus accident

The Sena said that the state should understand that most people travel by road in difficult terrain.

Mumbai: Shiv Sena – the sulking ally in the ruling coalition in the state – has criticised the chief minister Devendra Fadnavis-led state government for the death of 30 people in the bus accident in Raigad district on Saturday.

The Sena said that the “king” was responsible for the death of soldiers who did not participate in wars. The criticism was put forth in the party mouthpiece Saamana.

Development not only means laying down “Japanese bullet train tracks” but also averting such road accidents, which kill people en masse, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party said. The Sena also criticised the central government for focusing on its ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project instead of repairing the existing railway signal system and tracks.

Thirty staff members of an agriculture university based in Dapoli, Raigad, lost their lives after their bus plunged into a deep gorge at Ambenali Ghat near Poladpur town on Satur-day. The Sena said, “The chief minister and other ministers expressed grief over the (Raigad) accident. But it’s bad that such mishaps happen daily. It is the king who is responsible for the death of soldiers who didn’t participate in wars and all unnatural deaths.”
