HPCL-CR to launch swachhta drive
Mumbai: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has joined hands with the Central Railway (CR) in a bid to create awareness about cleanliness among commuters. The former is taking two rakes from CR to create awareness in Mumbai. The rakes will make numerous trips across the 77 stations of the Mumbai division of CR.
The CR, as part of its cleanliness drive Swachhata Hi Sewa Pakhwada, has started displaying the message of cleanliness on the exteriors of the suburban rakes in the Mumbai division, in collaboration with HPCL.
According to a CR official, “This is in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Swachchh Bharat’. The message of cleanliness is displayed on the exterior of both sides of every coach on two suburban rakes.”He said that the HPCL, too, is celebrating the “Swachch Bharat Pakhawada” in its organisation from August 15. The decision to advertise on the rake was part of the HPCL’s Pakhawada.
“Any message displayed on the exterior of suburban trains is seen by lakhs of people on each trip. Thus, it has the widest viewership, which will help spread the message of cleanliness to a wider audience,” he added.
The CR will conductthe campaign from September 15 to October 2.
