Job racket busted, 3 held from New Delhi
Mumbai: The Bhandup police has busted a job racket operating out of New Delhi, and arrested three persons from the national capital and Bhandup who duped people of several lakhs. A team of the Bhandup police is looking for more accused and camping at Delhi’s Mayur Vihar.
The police arrested Furkan Mohammad Rizvi, 27; Manish Mehra, 27; and Anil Lakshman alias Lallan Pandey, 32, from near Anand Vihar bus stop in Delhi. They were taken to the Madhu Vihar police station and after recording their arrest, brought to Mumbai.
The police began investigating after Rahul Roy, 29, a resident of Usha Nagar in Bhandup, lodged a complaint that unknown persons had persuaded him to deposit Rs 4.96 lakh in a State Bank of India (SBI) account in return for a job with Air Indigo. The account was traced to Delhi, leading the investigators to one Parvin Rajput, 31.
“When Rajput was questioned about the bank account, he revealed that he had also been promised a job by his friends Ali and others and that the account had been opened in his name and was being used by them. A team went to Delhi to look for the accused,” said an officer of Bhandup police station.
The accused would ask victims to deposit their money in the SBI account. The money would eventually be withdrawn and given to Ranjitkumar Ranjan from Dabri area in Delhi and Salman.
The police is now questioning the accused to recover the money deposited by Roy. The accused duped several persons to the tune of over one crore, the police said.
