Mumbai: Four days after the genitals of a 27-year-old man were brutally severed, the victim succumbed to his injuries in JJ Hospital late on Friday night.

Officials said that the victim had lost a lot of blood and undergone trauma for which he was being treated, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The police completed the process of adding the section of murder in the case, registered against three accused persons. The deceased was identified as Tushar Pujare, who worked as a home loan advisor and stayed in Dombivali.

Investigations revealed that Pujare had allegedly been harassing the women since long and had been warned by her on several occasions, but that did not deter him. He was also allegedly stalking the 42-year-old woman, the main accused in the case.

The woman hatched the murder after Pujare allegedly landed at her residence and spoke to her husband about his obsession.

The family members of the deceased confirmed to the police about the alleged warning of dire consequences, issued by her to Pujare.

“We added the section of murder against the woman and Tejas Mhatre and Pratik Kenia, who were the accomplices in the case,” said an officer of Manpada police station.

On Tuesday night, the trio lured Pujare to meet them at an isolated spot in Nava Gaon area where Mhatre and Kenia brutally assaulted him and later tied him to a tree and severed his genitals. They then admitted him to a hospital and fled.

On Friday, at around 11 pm, Pujare succumbed to his injuries in JJ Hospital in Byculla in Mumbai. The accused, who were booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), are being questioned in police custody in connection with the incident. The victim’s body was handed over to his family after conducting an autopsy, police said.
