A 25-year-old went missing from Mumbai domestic airport mysteriously on Friday evening. The police has launched a search operation for the missing youth and all the hospitals, toll nakas, police stations and railway stations have been informed about him.

According to police sources, the youth disappeared after he arrived at the airport with his sister to catch a flight to Guwahati, his native place. But, by the time the siblings reached the airport, they learnt that the boarding for the flight had already finished and they had to catch another flight. After this, they were standing outside the airport terminal and the youth, who said he was going to the rest room, did not return. The domestic airport police station has registered a case and further inquiry in the case is on.

When The Asian Age got in touch with the sister of the missing boy, Puinshisha Hujon said, “My brother, Mawramsong Hujon, came to Mumbai on November 26 with two of his friends to work in a business process outsourcing company in Borivali area. He was a trainee. Suddenly, on November 28, he fell ill. Firstly he got a fever then weakness and later a mole developed near his lips which started getting bigger day by day. After this his friends informed me about his condition and together we shifted him to Soochak Hospital in Malad.”

When Puinshisha reached Mumbai on December 4 she told the doctors to discharge her brother after which she booked an Indigo flight for Guwahati. Their flight was supposed to depart around 4.25 pm on Friday but they reached the airport at about 4.20 pm and missed their flight. After this, they were discussing whether they should book a flight for December 5 outside the terminal building when Mawramsong told his sister he had to go to the restroom and then rushed outside the airport area.

Suresh Vedak, ACP of the airport zone, confirmed the incident and said, “We have formed three special teams to trace the boy. We have searched all the hospitals and railway stations too. Meanwhile, our officials checked the CCTV footage, in which we can see him taking a turn towards the highway.”

While contacted, a friend of Mawramsong who did not wish to be named said, “It seems that he was depressed. Fear of rejection and an unsuccessful life was haunting him. He was dropped out from his computer classes and he failed to pass. When he came to Mumbai on November 26 he found life to be difficult and he was not able to eat anything and was missing home. But when he got the opportunity to go back home, he felt that people would mock him for staying unsuccessful.”

According to another friend of Mawramsong, the youth’s physical condition had started worsening from November 28 and he got admitted on December 2.
