A 27-year-old housewife on Friday afternoon jumped into a creek from the railway over-bridge (RoB) that runs between the Bhayander and Naigaon stations.

Before she jumped into the creek, the woman telephoned her father and her last words were, “Dad, please take care of my daughter, bye.” Her body, however, is yet to be found.

The woman, who has an 18-month-old daughter, was a resident of Nallasopara. She took this drastic step allegedly because of alleged mental torture that she faced from her in-laws. An eyewitness said that the woman was spotted alone, weeping at the waterfront of the Bhayander creek. After sometime, she headed towards the RoB and, before anyone could attempt to stop her, jumped into the creek.

Fire brigade officials and policemen arrived at the spot on receiving information.
