The Santacruz police of western suburban arrested three men for attacking the security guards of Juhu Heliport under the influence of alcohol and stealing barbed wires.

The Santacruz police of western suburban arrested three men for attacking the security guards of Juhu Heliport under the influence of alcohol and stealing barbed wires. The accused have been booked under sections 394, 34 and 447 for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal trespassing of IPC, said police. While officials are in the look out for the fourth person, the arrested three were produced in holiday court on Sunday, the police said.

The accused have been identified as Shiva Selveraj Devendra (22), Vijay Ranganath Devendra (19) and Surya Rajendra Devendra (19). Confirming this Mr Shantanu Pawar, senior police inspector from Santacruz said, “We arrested them on Saturday night from Nehru Nagar area, where they stay.” According to the police sources, at the initial stages of the investigation, the police came to know about one accused and later they enquired about the other people who were with him. This led them to the accused, while one is still at large and police is trying to identify him. On Friday night around 11.30 pm, the four accused trespassed in the airport premises and assaulted security guards Sadashiv Tukaram Bugade (58) and Anil Nalawade (38) who were on duty at the watchtower. According to the Juhu Heliport sources, such cases of intrusion by locals are frequent. According to sources, earlier on 13 separate instances, FIRs were lodged at the police station against Nehru Nagar residents for intruding into the airport premises.
