According to the sources from Mumbai airport, Ghosh at first lured one of his colleagues, Deepan Shankar, who also works as an engineer in Jet airways hanger, promising a flat in Mhada. He also showed him an under construction building of Mhada to him. Similarly in January 2015, he approached another colleague Venkatpati Meenu Chitra, and told her that his uncle is the director of Mhada so he can provide a flat to her. Meenu agreed to pay the money in instalments to Ghosh. Subsequently, over several online transactions, Meenu paid him '29.39 lakh in 2015. Later by November from 13 online transactions she paid total 29.50 lakh to Ghosh. Shankar paid a sum '24.30 lakh, while another colleague paid '1.46 lakh to Ghosh.
In November when these three inquired from Ghosh about the flat he took them to Kurla again and showed the building, which was now already built and occupied with the resident. So, the complainant again approached Ghosh who, this time promised to provide flat in another building and later started avoiding the colleagues. An inside from the hanger area informed The Asian Age that when complainant kept on asking about the flat almost two months ago Ghosh escaped from office and is still missing.
