After ‘Shat Pratishat BJP,’ its now time for ‘Ghar Ghar BJP.’ Don’t be surprised if you see leaders of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) knocking on your doors and apprising you about the party and its development works.
As a part of its efforts to capture the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the party has launched its ambitious campaign, in which party leaders are visiting each and every household in the city and telling people about development works that they have carried out.
According to BJP sources, the party has started the ‘Ghar Ghar BJP’ campaign to reach out to the newly enrolled party workers and common people in general. The door-to-door campaign aims at creating awareness about the principles and ideology of the party and also to promote the development works carried out by the party in the city.
The campaign is yet another part of BJP’s efforts to reach out to people ahead of the important civic polls to be held in the city early next year. After securing the largest number of seats (15) and piping Shiv Sena (14) to the second spot in Mumbai in the state Assembly polls, the BJP plans to rule the richest corporation in the country in its own. The civic party leaders have openly vowed that the next mayor of Mumbai will be from the BJP.
Hence, the party is making all out efforts to strengthen its base in the city. The first phase of ‘Ghar Ghar BJP’ campaign, which was launched in the city on May 3 — the death anniversary of late party leader Pramod Mahajan — will continue till May 9. It will be run in phases till the next BMC elections, said party leaders.
BJP leader and chairperson of BMC improvements committee Prakash Gangadhare has been visiting people in his Mulund constituency. “Under the Ghar Ghar BJP’ campaign, I want to reach each and every household in my constituency to inform people about these works,” he said.
