Making unique provisions for some buildings in the city, the BMC has introduced the concept of permitting development of helipads on rooftops of 200-metre-tall buildings. This provision was made after public demand, and is applicable for new structures, as well as existing buildings wishing to undertake structural stability changes to support a helipad on their rooftops.

However, this is subject to prior permission from Director General of Civil Aviation as per the guidelines issued by the ministry of civil aviation, ministry of defence and the Maharashtra government, structural stability certificate from the registered structural engineer, provision for firefighting as prescribed by Chief Fire Officer (CFO), unrestricted access as required by MCGM/any Government agencies in case of emergency along with a submission of registered undertaking for this purpose.

Meanwhile, yet another unique provision is the introduction of Yogalaya or Fitness Centre including toilet facilities at existing or proposed Co-Operative Housing Society. This room is required to measure not more then 200 square feet.
