In a setback to Firoz Abdul Rashid Khan, an accused in 1993 serial blasts case who wanted to turn approver in the case, the CBI on Monday told the court that they do not need any approver and they have enough evidence to prove their case. The court would pass order on Khan’s plea on Tuesday.

Last month, Khan, an accused in 1993 serial bomb blast case, had written a letter to TADA court from jail expressing his desire to turn approver. Later, he personally told the court the same thing and the court had asked the CBI to file its reply.

However, on Monday special public prosecutor Deepak Salvi told the CBI judge G A Sanap that the agency has enough evidence to prove case against the accused and does not need any approver.

The court, which is presently hearing the final arguments in the case, will be passing an order on this application on Tuesday.
