Cops warn against perils of Pokemon Go

The Mumbai police seems determined to educate people about the perils of playing the highly popular game Pokemon Go. The Mumbai police Twitter team on Sunday tweeted about the same saying, ‘Life is not a game. Especially not one to be played on the roads!’ with a picture of the game.

This tweet comes a day after a Poke Walk — an event organised for fellow Pokemon Go players to meet and discuss the game and catch some pokemon while doing was cancelled since the organisers did not get permissions from the BMC and the Mumbai police. While nearly 7,000 people had shown an interest in the event, the organisers could not get a nod from the Mumbai police to hold the event from Azad Maidan police station.

In the tweet posted from @MumbaiPolice, a policeman is seen trying to catch a pokemon using a pokeball. The gif ends with a message, “Pokemon ‘Can’t’ Go out on streets causing distractions!” The game, yet to officially release in India, is seeing users download pirated versions and already has a huge following.
