The Vile Parle police is looking for two unidentified men who allegedly brandished a pistol and threatened an employee of a hotel in the area. The police said the men left a card with the employee and threatened to kill the owner. The police has found a bullet casing at the spot and has sent the same for forensic analysis.

The police said the incident occurred around 10.30 pm Friday night outside the popular Gajalee restaurant located near the Vile Parle station. “An employee was standing outside at the pastry counter of the restaurant when two men approached him. Both the men had covered their faces and handed the attendant at the counter a card and pulled out a pistol-like weapon,” said an officer from the Vile Parle police station.

The unidentified men then allegedly said, “tere andar ke baap ko dena warna aur call nahi kiya toh maar denge” (Give it to your owner and if he fails to call, then he will be killed). While the men departed, the rattled employee approached the managers of the restaurant who then informed the police. The men allegedly informed the attendant that they were associated with fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari.

A police source said that while cleaning up the restaurant, the attendant found a bullet casing near the counter. “The attendant while being questioned denied hearing any shot or seeing a shot being fired. However, we have collected the casing and sent it for forensic analysis to get more details,” said senior police inspector, R. Maharao.

The police is also scanning through CCTV footage of the hotel and the area to identify the men who were allegedly wearing black caps.
