Man killed in dispute with shopkeeper

Two imitation gold workshop workers, and their owner killed a 28-year-old man in the Kandivali east area on Monday early morning.

Two imitation gold workshop workers, and their owner killed a 28-year-old man in the Kandivali east area on Monday early morning. The deceased identified as Prashant Aher (28) was a repeat offender and had cases of assault registered against him. According to the police officers on Monday morning, a verbal argument took place between the deceased and workshop people after which the workshop people attacked Aher and killed him. Following the incident, the police has arrested one accused while a search for two is on, whose names have been withheld by the police.

According to the police, Aher, a resident of Wadarpada, in Kandivali (east) , along with a friend Rupesh Thackrey was roaming the streets of Wadarpada around 5 am. Aher was talking to another friend on road number 2 of the area, near a imitation jewellery making workshop. The owner on noticing Aher standing outside his shop, argued with him asking him to leave.

Dilip Yadav, senior inspector of Samta Nagar police station, said both the accused and deceased knew each other, and did not have any previous any rivalry.
