MLA’s wife rams Lamborghini into auto-rickshaw
It was a narrow escape for three pedestrians after a brand new Lamborghini Huracan owned by local BJP legislator Narendra Mehta collided into a parked auto-rickshaw in Bhayander (east).
The incident was reported near the Seven Square Academy around 11 am on Sunday. While no one was injured in the mishap, the vehicle missed three unsuspecting pedestrians by mere inches.
The matter came to light after a video of the collusion went viral on various social media platforms on Tuesday. The car was reportedly driven by the legislator’s wife. “It was not a high-speed collusion as the video shows, but was a minor knock with the parked auto while taking a turn,” claimed the legislator. With an on-road price of more than '4 crore, the car was gifted by the legislator to his wife on the occasion of her birthday on Saturday. While the car had a temporary registration number, no official complaint has been registered in this context at the local police station. When contacted, on-duty personnel stationed at the local police station claimed ignorance of any such incident. Incidentally, Mr Mehta is facing a volley of accusations in context to illegal constructions and possession of disproportionate assets and a probe is on by various agencies, including the Lok Ayukta.
