Naked body of woman found in Kurar
Police officials of Kurar area are trying to identify the body of an unknown young woman that was recovered without clothes on Friday morning in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park forest area under the jurisdiction of Kurar police.
The police has registered a case of murder against unknown persons and investigation is on. The body, said to that of a woman between 25-30 years of age, was recovered around 8.45 am on Friday by locals when they were on their way to fetch water.
According to police sources the body was naked and has been sent to post-mortem in order to know the cause of death and she was sexually assaulted. The body has been sent to Bhagwati Hospital. Officials are suspecting that the woman was killed on Thursday as the body appeared to be fresh.
The police came to know about the body after an unknown person called at the police control room from a PCO in Pimpripada to inform about the body.
Locals of Hamuman Tekdi area of the Pimpripada location of Kurar, where body was recovered, told The Asian Age that heavy stones were kept near the body of the woman and one stone was kept on her genitals while one was kept on her breast. When this newspaper visited the area, locals informed that a yellow saree, a set of footwear and a liquor bottle were seized by the police around 100 feet away from the spot. She had injuries on her face, and was wearing a locket around her neck.
According to M. Ramkumar, DCP of the area, “The woman had a sindoor line on her forehead but was totally nude so officials are trying to establish her identity and following the regular process as trying to trace the woman from the missing complaints.”
Preliminary investigation of the police has revealed the woman is not a local resident. Another police official said, “She had no severe external injuries but had a few red marks around her neck, which shows that she was strangulated.” Now officials are probing in three directions to know the cause of death, if rape was attempted and if the body was transported from somewhere.
