The CBI officials, while investigating the killing of rationalist Dr Narendra Dabholkar and Communist leader Govind Pansare, stumbled upon a master plan of Sanatan Sanstha to set up Ishwari Rajya (God’s Kingdom) in India by 2023 and found the accused were in line with that plan. The CBI also found that Sanatan Sanstha is working as per its ‘own constitution’ which promotes the Chaturvarna system, i.e., caste hierarchy. The suspected killers Virendra Tawade, Sameer Gaikwad and Vinay Pawar belong to the Maratha community, which as per the proposed hierarchy makes the trio part of the ‘Kshatriya’ group who are expected to protect and also kill ‘evils’.

CBI officials have, during the course of investigation, discovered literature by the Sanstha and some books that have given them leads for further investigation.

In the book, Setting Up God’s Kingdom Spirituality: Volume 1, it has clearly indicated that the nation will be a Hindu rashtra and will not have any connection with Buddha, Jain, Shaiva, Vaishnav, Muslims and Christians. Another book Kshatradharma Sadhana Volume 1, promotes the killing of ‘durjans’ (evils). Another book Varnashram Vyavastha, promotes its firm belief in caste hierarchy in which Brahmins are at the top, Kshatriyas are in second position, Vaishyas third and Shudras at the bottom.

“It is suspected that the killings take place as per the constitution of the Sanatan Sanstha to set up the ‘Ishwari Rajya’. All the members are given certain duties as per their castes. Tawade, Gaikwad and the absconding Pawar belong to the Maratha community, which is equivalent to Kshatriya in Maharashtra,” a source from the CBI said.

A chargesheet filed against Sameer Gaikwad, the prime accused in the Pansare killing, showed he had used abusive language against his Dalit girlfriend. In all conversations mentioned in the chargesheet, he has emphasised their castes.

“In the recent raids on the Sanstha’s Panvel and Goa ashram, we found 20,000 tablets of Amisulpride, the anti-schizophrenia drug worth '51,000 purchased between 2015 and 2016. The 164 witnesses before the judicial magistrate have stated they were given Amisulpride and Respiridon through tirth (holy water) which was given by one Ms Joshi in the Panvel ashram,” the CBI source said.
