Virar student’s murder was plotted by boyfriend: Police
The police has now found that Aishwarya Agrwal (19), the Virar girl who was hacked to death, was killed on the orders of her ex-boyfriend.
Aishwarya was a second-year student of a Virar college who was murdered by her boyfriend’s friend on Friday night.
The police said that Sohail Shaikh (22) had asked his friend Deepak Waghri (28) to rape and murder her, as he was upset over Aishwarya’s decision to discontinue their relationship.
Police sources told this paper that an investigation had revealed that at the time of the incident, Shaikh was hiding near his friend Waghri’s house where Aishwarya was murdered.
Investigations have revealed that Aishwarya wanted to discontinue her relationship with Shaikh, but he was not able to accept it. So, he decided to take revenge.
Officials said Shaikh plotted the murder and asked Aishwarya to meet him one last time at Waghri’s house. He had already asked Waghri to rape and kill her. However, officials are still trying to ascertain the amount that was promised or paid to Waghri to execute the act.
A senior official from the Virar police station said when Aishwarya arrived at Waghri’s house, he tried to rape her but she resisted. So, Waghri then attacked her with an axe. He struck Aishwarya repeatedly with the axe at least 17 times.
According to officials, at the time of the incident, Shaikh was hiding near Waghri’s house and when he realised that Waghri had executed the murder, he approached the police and laid the blame of murder on Waghri. Following this, officials arrested Waghri on Friday and Shaikh on Saturday.
