One song on repeat on your iPod these days: The title track from the upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Three songs in the soundtrack of your life: Khoya Khoya Chand by Rafisahab from the movie Kala Bazaar. This song made me fall in love with music. Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si by Kishore Da. It was after I listened to this song that I understood the musical genius that Kishoreda was. Aap Ki Nazro Ne Samjha sung by Lataji from the movie Anpadh. This song has always touched me to the core. Chura Liya Hai Tumne from Yaadon Ki Baaraat. The simplicity of this song is its USP. O Sanam by Lucky Ali. I grew up listening to Lucky Ali. Though casettes were expensive during those days, I still managed to purchase them.
A song you love to listen to when you’re: Happy and upbeat: Paradise by Coldplay. Really low: Ranjish Hi Sahi by Mehdi Hassan. Working out: I am Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO.
Music that you used to love as a kid or a teenager that you’re now embarrassed by: I am not embarrassed about any song as such but if I have to name one, it has to be Altaf Raja’s Tum To Thehre Pardesi.
You would describe your taste in music as: I love all kinds of music. It is easy to understand when the efforts put into a song is honest.
Favourite time to listen to music: Whenever I get some free time or travelling. I prefer listening to my music on my phone.
One band/musician you’d want a private concert from: The Beatles. Of course I am aware that the wish will never be fulfilled!
