MP Modi to Inaugurate Investors’ Meet, MP Cabinet Approves New Industrial Policy Ahead of GIS
A committee headed by chief minister Mr Yadav has been constituted to make the GIS a success.

�Bhopal: Prime minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the two-day Global Investors’ Summit (GIS), commencing here on February 24.
Mr Modi is scheduled to arrive in Madhya Pradesh on February 23 and scheduled to perform the groundbreaking ceremony of a cancer hospital in Chhatarpur in the state on that day.
He is scheduled to return to Bhopal on February 23 and inaugurate the GIS here on February 24.
Union home minister Amit Shah is scheduled to attend the closing session of the summit.
This was briefed to the state cabinet, met here on Tuesday, by chief minister Mohan Yadav.
Mr Yadav said that a curtain raiser event on the upcoming GIS would be held in New Delhi on Wednesday to ensure better coordination with the foreign industrial and business groups and commercial embassies from various countries attending the two-day GIS.

The state cabinet has approved a new industry policy and also endorsed ten new policies in sectors such as agriculture, diary development and food processing, logistic, pharmaceutical, film and tourism, aerospace and defence production, renewal energy equipment production, textile, garment, footwear production, biotechnology and medical devices production keeping in view the upcoming GIS meet, state urban development minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said.
The GIS is being held to woo investments in different sectors in the state with an objective to generate 20 lakh jobs in the coming five years.
Besides, the state government has set a target to increase the gross domestic product (GDP) of the state from the current Rs 2.9 lakh crore to Six lakh crore in 2030 with significant contributions from the industrial sector.
The new industrial policy envisages provision of incentives of Rs 200 crore for the greenfield projects coming up in various sectors in the state.
